Welcome to
Microfiction Monday, where a picture paints 140 characters (or even fewer).
Pedro was riding his horse when he came across a mannequin. Pedro didn’t know how it had gotten way out in the desert, but didn’t care; he could sure us a new hat and poncho.
You can check out Microfiction Mondays with Susan at Stony River!
Oh, Lucky Pedro!! Wish I could come across a mannequin like that, I could use a couple of new things, too! What a fun MM for the day, Eric! Hope you have a great week!

Finder's keepers, right??!?!?! :O)
ReplyDeleteAmusing! I like deserts, but mannequins tend to creep me out. I'm not sure how near I'd go to a mannequin in the desert.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my place!
hehe. maybe it fell off a clothing truck...
ReplyDeleteOh, that's really good. Love that idea of boosting his daily fashion. LOL.
ReplyDeleteThat is cute...like 'manna from heaven'...LOL
ReplyDeleteHave a great week. Cheers!
Those darn desert mannequins! I wish they'd show up in my backyard offering boots and lingerie!
ReplyDeleteSounds as if this is Pedro's Lucky Day. Maybe it will turn out to be his Kim Cattrall.
ReplyDeletePedro saw an opportunity and he took it.
ReplyDeleteGot to love a man that seizes the moment!
I liked this!
and so the old adage ~ finders keepers ~ even the desert has it's store :)
ReplyDeletehehe
Hey, that's a great one - original. Loved it!
ReplyDeletethat's a very funny way of looking at it, it's a different perspective. I can totally see him taking the hat and poncho and boots, haha.
ReplyDeleteNever look a gift horse in the mouth.
ReplyDeleteHilarious, Bubba...Why look a gift horse in the mouth, so to speak?
ReplyDeleteBtw, I thought your story seemed longer than 140 characters, so I copied and pasted it into http://www.design215.com/toolbox/character_count.php and sure enough, it was 173 characters. That's the website that Susan of Stony River recommends for counting characters, including spaces and punctuation. Just wanted to let you know. :) Your story is unique and very funny, though!
Pat, I always check my charcter count before I post these. There are no rules listed at Stony River about counting spaces as characters (or not counting them, for that matter), so I didn't count the spaces.
ReplyDelete(Doesn't make sense to count spaces in my mind, just like we ignore them when counting words - besides, it gives me more to work with!)
Might as well take those boots, too. :) Funny!
ReplyDeletemight need a mannequin too....take it all!
ReplyDeleteClever you!
