Microfiction Monday # 57

Welcome to Microfiction Monday, where a picture paints 140 characters (or even fewer).

Pedro was riding his horse when he came across a mannequin. Pedro didn’t know how it had gotten way out in the desert, but didn’t care; he could sure us a new hat and poncho.

You can check out Microfiction Mondays with Susan at Stony River!

  3. Amusing! I like deserts, but mannequins tend to creep me out. I'm not sure how near I'd go to a mannequin in the desert.

Thanks for stopping by my place!

  8. Sounds as if this is Pedro's Lucky Day. Maybe it will turn out to be his Kim Cattrall.

  14. Hilarious, Bubba...Why look a gift horse in the mouth, so to speak?

Btw, I thought your story seemed longer than 140 characters, so I copied and pasted it into http://www.design215.com/toolbox/character_count.php and sure enough, it was 173 characters. That's the website that Susan of Stony River recommends for counting characters, including spaces and punctuation. Just wanted to let you know. :) Your story is unique and very funny, though!

  15. Pat, I always check my charcter count before I post these. There are no rules listed at Stony River about counting spaces as characters (or not counting them, for that matter), so I didn't count the spaces.

(Doesn't make sense to count spaces in my mind, just like we ignore them when counting words - besides, it gives me more to work with!)
