Shelf Life: 55

What would make you embrace life?

(Instead of putting it on a shelf)

A promise you’ll get everything you want?

(Sorry, no promises)

Knowing you’ll be remembered?

(Eventually we’re all forgotten)

Faith that you’ll succeed?

(Can’t succeed without trying)

An expiration date, like a can of beans?

(It’s already there, you just can’t see it)

  1. Ha! Reminds me of a news story I saw last week where they said they can predict how long you'll live with some sort of 'snake oil' test. Yeah, right. I wonder how they figure in lightning strikes, hurricanes, tornadoes, snake bites and drunk drivers?

    Love this, Eric.

    Blessings,
    Marion

  6. I think I'd live differently if I knew when I was going to die. I kinda wish I did know. They say live every day like you're dyin'...but who can keep that up. There's work, kids, stuff....

But if I knew it was two months from now...new it for certain...I'd be living differently every single day.

  11. Well in the grand scheme of things, beans have a pretty decent shelf life. So I guess it could be worse... :)

Seriously though - good points. "We're here for a good time, not a long time..." :)

  14. Very cool, Eric. Life is not timeless and doesn't come with guarantees.
