What would make you embrace life?
(Instead of putting it on a shelf)
A promise you’ll get everything you want?
(Sorry, no promises)
Knowing you’ll be remembered?
(Eventually we’re all forgotten)
Faith that you’ll succeed?
(Can’t succeed without trying)
An expiration date, like a can of beans?
(It’s already there, you just can’t see it)
That's good to remember!
ReplyDeleteHa! Reminds me of a news story I saw last week where they said they can predict how long you'll live with some sort of 'snake oil' test. Yeah, right. I wonder how they figure in lightning strikes, hurricanes, tornadoes, snake bites and drunk drivers?
ReplyDeleteLove this, Eric.
Blessings,
Marion
yes it is...did you read my post today or this just one of those great minds think alike things?
ReplyDeleteI hope I can finish this comment before my expiration da...
ReplyDeleteLove the line about the expiry date... that is so true.. but out of site out of mind. :)
ReplyDeleteA nice mixture : profound irony of it all...

I think I'd live differently if I knew when I was going to die. I kinda wish I did know. They say live every day like you're dyin'...but who can keep that up. There's work, kids, stuff....
ReplyDeleteBut if I knew it was two months from now...new it for certain...I'd be living differently every single day.
A poignant 55, Bubba. (Although reading this makes me wanna clean out my pantry.)
ReplyDeleteYep--always been kinda glad they put the expiration date where I can't see it.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fact!!!
ReplyDeleteHostess Twinkees have NO expiration date!!
Look it up....
Very clever 55 Eric
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End
Maybe something worth reaching out for?
ReplyDeleteLove it ~
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday~
Well in the grand scheme of things, beans have a pretty decent shelf life. So I guess it could be worse... :)
ReplyDeleteSeriously though - good points. "We're here for a good time, not a long time..." :)
..an expiration date we can not see. ha. Yes, why do so many (of us) forget to ENJOY and embrace life!!! ? Really a great topic for a 55.
ReplyDeleteA great reminder to enjoy it all while you still can, Eric. Hope you're having a fabulous weekend.
ReplyDeleteVery cool, Eric. Life is not timeless and doesn't come with guarantees.
