A seed
hidden in cold ground
Patient
as only a seed can be
Waiting
for calling Spring
Feeling
rain sinking down
Sensing
sun shining above
Knowing
the time has come
Pushing
through to fresh air
Basking
in the light of day
Drinking
moisture from below
Growing
upward and outward
Living
as a seed must be
Very nice expression of spring's birth.
ReplyDeleteyou answered a koan with koan - didn't your mother tell you never to do that...?
ReplyDeleteYou do good work EA!
I'm loving watching things springing back to life. I loved this poem, Eric.
ReplyDeletelove the simplicity of this - like many haiku strung together
