The Seed

A seed
hidden in cold ground

Patient
as only a seed can be

Waiting
for calling Spring

Feeling
rain sinking down

Sensing
sun shining above

Knowing
the time has come

Pushing
through to fresh air

Basking
in the light of day

Drinking
moisture from below

Growing
upward and outward

Living
as a seed must be
