Autumn Dance

Nature starts her seduction
With slowly stirring winds
Gradually green veils drop
Revealing gifts within

Golden leaves sway lazily
Shimmers catch my eye
Sudden scarlet flashes
Dance on branches high

Color and motion draw me in
Pulse pounding in my veins
Stripped bare by wailing winds
Her stark beauty remains

  1. Beautiful, just perfect. Your photos are amazing, too. We finally got some nice rain showers here yesterday and today after months of drought. It was pure magic. Blessings!!

  9. Nice description on in-coming autumn. Not sure when it's going to start though. Out here in CA it's still in the 80's and all the leaves are green and hanging around. I can't get that view you're talking about here! Nice photos too. I enjoyed your One Shot Eric!

I loved your last stanza, too. The bare branches seemed austere, but you're absolutely right, she has powerful and stark beauty. I enjoyed this, Eric. Great One Shot! :)
