It’s usual for folks to follow
It’s rare for them to lead
So someone who takes charge
Is a rare bird indeed
Most folks are quite happy
To just follow behind
Don’t know where they’re going
But don’t seem to mind
But I’m not like that
I go wherever I may
So please step aside
And I will lead the way
I'm right behind ya!
ReplyDeleteYep, me too!
ReplyDeleteWouldnt we poets make a cool parade, all marching to different drummers? Would love to see that!
ReplyDeleteSmiling... It's the only way to live life to its full, isn't it. Right with you too ;)
ReplyDeleteOK then, off you go.
ReplyDeletewe'll see where you lead us :-)

ReplyDeleteNice to see everybody is willing to let me lead the way - which also illustrates my point quite nicely!
ReplyDeleteMe... Others
☺.... ☺☺☺☺☺☺...
I love the rhythm and the message in this piece. It is very entertaining.
ReplyDeleteYou're so right... I'd love to be that rare bird.
ReplyDeleteWhat a forceful person! As long as you don't lead me into temptation!
ReplyDeleteEric, a good leader is hard to find. I agree with you that most people would rather follow than lead. You have the confidence that would make YOU a good leader! Thanks for supporting/ participating in Vice/Versa!
ReplyDeleteMary is right. I'm more of a leader than a follower, perhaps because I have a big mouth (!) as well as strong convictions. But I remember the days of following... and being disappointed time and again. This poem spoke volumes to me. Thanks, Eric, and peace, Amy
