Release

Life’s constant struggle
Energy-draining worries
Taking a toll on my soul

Grinding my teeth
Over tiny details

Over little things always
Finally revealed as unimportant

I try to find some way
To free myself from them

A small glimmer of hope when
Little by little I feel them release
Little by little my soul finds peace

  1. Wow. That one summed up probably most people's days. I love the cadence and the buildup. Very well done!

  4. Nice. And you hit it straight on -- little things revealed as unimportant. All our worries about things that haven't happened yet. It is akin to paying taxes for things yet to be purchased.

  5. Oh the pre-programmed Hold On is so hard to LET GO. Those Depression Era parents that prized paper dolls and balls of twine and kept cans of pennies. Yep..hard to let go and yet why bother to hold on..no one care when you're daid & gone. Good Acrostic poem. Gay

  11. "Tiny details," "little things,"little by little I feel them release"--isn't is interesting how life is lived in mere moments, whether we're worrying (i.e. creating our own suffering) or surrendering. Nice poem!

  15. You said it Eric- Just let go of it all!
Not many of us do it- and keep themselves stressed- certainly not I. I can take a break even if my tails was on fire.. haha

    Well written- very creative

  16. Fantastic Eric, I love how you've written this, reading downward on each line's beginning letter "Let Go Of It All" and the full point made within of that same sense to release. EXCELLENT work! Love it =D ~April

  23. Hi Eric

Yes, we are all engrossed in doing things that are not us, not for us. We never usually see ourselves in the way we are... I liked your description of the same.. trying to find oneself little by little...
