Resolution # 55

This New Year’s Eve, if you’re making resolutions
Try to make ones that aren’t huge revolutions

Don’t think about the things you’re starting or stopping
Try some moderation, not just things that need dropping

Try to find a gentle way to someplace in the middle
Resolutions aren’t too hard if you change just a little

Happy New Year to G-Man
and all my fellow 55-ers!

"You say you want a resolution, well you know, we all want to change the world"  (Apologies to The Beatles)

  1. I like that Eric. If you over shoot you never meet the resolution.

  5. I think I stopped making resolutions about the same time I stopped reading my horoscope. Wish I wasn't too tired to start a revolution! Happy New Year!

  7. We've all heard Revolution # 9--what happened to numbers 1-8? The CIA had something to do with it, I'm sure.

You're spot on on the moderation route. Change is most lasting when it's incremental. Thanks for all your visits and kind words, Eric. Have a Happy New Year.

  10. In 1996 I made the only New Year's resolution I have never broken -- not to make New Year's Resolutions!

  12. Great advice. I made a resolution years ago that I've stuck to - not to make resolutions.
