Turn and Learn

People wrench and cry
Dissatisfied
With their reasons why

Perpetual heartache
For its own sake
Never give, just take

Seeking out the self
Just for yourself
All else on the shelf

Turn away from the ‘Me’
To face the ‘We’
And finally begin to see

Learn to help one another
Sister, brother
These words are for you, no other

  1. A teensy bit preachy.... Sounds almost like something John Lennon would write!

    Perhaps this is about politics?

  6. Taking without giving is a dead end, for sure, whereas the other way around, everything works. It's much harder, though.

  9. A valuable message. I agree wholeheartedly. Sometimes those that take and take do great damage. Love the rhyme.

  12. There's nothing worse than being in a situation that is one-sided and perpetually draining. Much better with "we" than always "me".

Yes, thank you, we're all culpable and must learn interdependence. Reciprocity is the only way to true empathy and intimacy.

  16. ERIC!! We meet again,my old buddy. Well, not THAT old. :)

As usual you fling the olde hope and love twist in your writing, and we are all the better -- the Universe is all the better for you.
