Sweet Dreams

Sweet dreams are made of this...

Imagine a marshmallow mountain
Surrounded by mounds of marmalade
Cotton candy clouds drifting over
Fields of fresh blueberry muffins

A river of maple syrup slowly flows
Between broad banks of rock candy
Where the Swedish fish swim freely
And the gummi bears eat only honey

A candy-covered carousel spins
Peppermint-stick ponies bobbing
As a chocolate calliope chuffs-out
A simple, bright, sugar-sweet song

I dance with fair strawberry
Then raspberry takes a twirl
Eager blackberry goes next
While banana awaits her turn

There’s my gingerbread house
With the fancy ribbon-candy roof
My graham cracker walk is lined
With eight caramel apple trees

Inside the floors are tiled in toffee
My lemon tart couch has custard cushions
My sponge-cake bed has meringue pillows
Where I lay down and have sweet dreams

I dream dreams of many colors
Oranges and purples, plum or grape
Lemon-lime greens and yellows
And fine fresh pineapple golds

Sweet dreams are made of this...

  16. Well, I just had dinner and 2 pieces of chocolate. I don't like my chocolate sweet ... or anything else for that matter. This is a marvelous write and a good poem, but if we sit down for desert together I might just have to pick the restaurant.
