Unseasonable
A sudden warm spell has me
confused
With the leaves already
changing color
Too warm today for
yesterday’s flannel
Sun bright and cheery
clouds in the sky
October is usually not
quite this warm
Most often the autumn air
is much cooler
Not the basking warmth I’m
feeling today
What they used to call “Indian
Summer”
Still, I don’t really mind
the lingering warmth
Before the colorful leaves
start turning brown
