For Rest

Standing fifty feet tall
Head in the clouds
Feet rooted
Deep in the earth

Whisperings
Soft and low
Though thunderous voice
Once bellowed

Calm and gentle hand
Mighty destroyer of worlds
Lays at rest
This supine divinity

Though rumbling hunger
Shall soon be met
Yet another
Torn asunder

  1. Yes, there goes another who will be hungry and tired no more (and no longer guilty about losing youth and vitality). No matter how tall or aged,
it is becoming as hard to say goodbye to a tree as to one of us.
