Snowflakes are, each one, unique
But, somehow, are all the same
Some of them fly fast and wild
Some of them fall slow and tame

All begin high in the sky
Then slowly start to form
Each one taking its own shape
Each one a part of the storm

One by one they journey down
Each one going its own way
Separate, together still
And turning the sky to grey

Tumbling earthward through the air
Upon countless paths they fall
Drift and drop haphazardly
They plummet and then they stall

A place for each, each in place
In vast number gathered ‘round
Each is now part of a whole
In reunion most profound
