When
winter wind’s howl
Chills
me to the bone
With
weather so fowl
It
just makes me groan
I
long for the days
Of
summer’s sun bold
And
try to find ways
To
keep off the cold
With
mittens and hat
And
boots so heavy
I’m
looking quite fat
Feel
like a Chevy
With
lumbering stride
And
one last prayer
I
step back inside
And
peel off each layer
Slippers
and settle
Turn
on the T.V.
Turn
on the kettle
To
make me some tea
Grab
a warm blanket
Pull
it right over
Get
snuggled in it
Call
my dog, Rover
Rover
licks my hand
I
feel much better
Drinking
my tea and
Cursing
this weather
Ha! Dog kisses and cursing are definitely therapeutic. Hope things warm up for you soon! :)
ReplyDeleteI have to same experience here in the cold snowy mountains- 'cept I have Lucy the Cat! She keeps me warm!
