Final Breath

Before you leave
Your loved ones to grieve
Before embracing death
There will be a last breath

What will you say
Before going away?
What wisdom will you share
Before leaving behind care?

Will you wish us all well?
Or curse us all to hell?
Or depart in mysterious style
Wearing a knowing smile?

Will you suddenly bemoan
Your lost love unknown
And leave us to ponder
Of whom you were fonder?

Will you speak of great treasure
And wealth beyond measure
That lies hidden in some level
And then laugh with the devil?

Will you rant and rage
At each turn of the page?
Or just give up the fight
And slip into goodnight?
