If We Were All Blind

If we were all blind
Then we’d each listen close
Our words would matter most
If we were all blind

If we were all blind
We’d care less about things
And the envy that brings
If we were all blind

If we were all blind
We could dance in a brook
And not care how we look
If we were all blind

If we were all blind
We would help each other
Like sister or brother
If we were all blind

If we were all blind
We would sing together
Talk about the weather
If we were all blind

If we were all blind
We would all take our time
There would be much less crime
If we were all blind

If we were all blind
It would be a nice place
For the whole Human Race
If we were all blind

  1. That was beautiful. Loved the sentiment. I sometimes wish we were all mute.

  4. the first stanza had me thinking of "blind" as more of a lack of judging--an openness to others thoughts and ideas; almost like being "blind" helps to open ones eyes to what is truly there--what truly matters. it definitely would be an interesting and beautiful place if "blindness" touched everyone.

  5. I thought much the same as RMP...blind being a state of mind rather than a physical condition. Interesting thoughts you present here!

  6. Yes, there is definitely more than one way to be blind.

  7. Nicely said! I never had to do that "blind for a day/hour" experiment where a friend leads you around, but now I'm thinking it should be a standard part of a child's education! :)
