Last Rodeo

Unseasonably warm this spring

Usually quite a pleasant thing

But I find myself wondering

If our climate is floundering

Fluctuations so extreme

Radical cycles that seem

To be rather off the beam

No longer part of the team

Some say it’s nothing new

You just need a wider view

And that all might be true

But between me and you

I’ve lived long enough to know

The cycles that come and go

And though I hope it’s not so

This might be our last rodeo
