Grave Presumptions

It’s dangerous to presume
And much worse to insist
That there’s no black magic
And ghosts do not exist

It’s dangerous to presume
That there’s no evil twist
The end is always happy
And bad will not persist

It’s dangerous to presume
That naught hides in the mist
There’s no such thing as monsters
And you’re not on their list

It’s dangerous to presume
That you could raise a fist
Or boogey men ain’t real
And cannot grab your wrist

It’s dangerous to presume
That you’d surely be missed
Or bodies don’t just disappear
And get lost in the grist

It’s dangerous to presume
That witches don’t get kissed
Or that voice was just the wind
And that you can resist

  4. That's a tale worth telling on Halloween night or 'round the campfire. Goose bumply.
