Small-Town Holy Man

Grizzled grey beard stuttering

Uttering nonsensical words

Heard with a smirk by others

Mothers say, “Children steer clear”

Fearing thoughts unspeakable

Weak and seemingly nuts

But the small-town holy man

Can’t understand any of this

His higher mind quite possessed

Obsessed with the words

Heard only by him inside

His pride is non-existent

Persistent in revealing the truth

Toothless
