The Way of Waves

Two waves upon the ocean blue

Call one Me and the other You

Me and You share the same great sea

Though you are You and I am Me

Together for a moment brief

Drifting apart from reef to reef

And so we carry on our way

From rocky shoal to tranquil bay

Forces working to change our path

Feel the fury of nature’s wrath

But there’s a deeper connection

A change in the wind’s direction

For we are very much the same

Playing out our watery game

A constant struggle to belong

Doing things that we know are wrong

Sometimes the water misbehaves
That, my friend, is the way of waves
