It’s been a yellow fall
Not many reds at all
Some purple here and there
But yellow everywhere
It isn’t that I mind
An autumn of this kind
But red and orange so bright
Fills my heart with delight
Seeing too much yellow
Makes fall feel so mellow
Not that mellow is bad
It just borders on sad
I’d rather feel jolly
Not this melancholy
The colors of the fall
I like to see them all
Crimson, scarlet, maroon
Orange, all gone too soon
And though yellows are gold
This year they’re
getting old
