All Hallows Eve

The veil between worlds grows thinnest tonight

The full moon climbs up to the highest height

Flooding the night with the eeriest light

It’s time to perform a most ancient rite

Donning our costumes so dark or so bright

Dressed-up like monsters that growl but not bite

Calling out “Trick-or-treat!” with such delight

Giving the neighbors such an awful fright

Shutting their doors as we drift out of sight
