She said that she loved the sea, as we strolled, holding hands
The surf gently tickling our toes as it lapped upon the sands
She said that she loved the sea, as we shove off in our skiff
The waves caused the boat to bob as I rowed, the oars stiff
She said that she loved the sea, as we cast out our net
The salty spray splashed in her eyes, dappled her hair wet
She said that she loved the sea, as a storm came rolling in
The anchor was stuck far below, the clouds were dark as sin
She said that she loved the sea, as one wave pushed her out
The waters tossed her easily, she floundered all about
She said that she loved the sea, as I saw her start to sink
The anchor rope came apart; the skiff was on the brink
She said that she loved the sea, as I dove in over the side
The crashing waves held us down. Together, there, we died
so romantic! you must get a sturdier rowboat. :)

Awww! So sad that what she loved killed her. I'm glad she didn't die alone...

ReplyDeleteTragic romance. I like this very much.
ReplyDeleteIt can be taken at face value, but I feel like there are layers to this one?
