Autumn Leaves

Hail the days of fall
Death most beautiful
First greens are now gold
Summer’s story told

Red forests afire
Autumn’s silent pyre
Leaves ablaze so bright
Prepared to take flight

Wind, rain, gravity
Work to pull them free
Hear the quiet gasp
As they lose their grasp

Fallen dry piles brown
Return to the ground
Spring branches will sway
Renewed by this decay

 The cycle returns
Life and Death take turns
Hail the days of fall
Death most beautiful
